Test Sieve and Give Us Feedback

Sieve just won our local AI browser extension bounty 馃弳

Announcement here: https://x.com/i/status/2089377946066932187

Now let's see how it holds up in the real world.

The challenge

Install Sieve, use it during your normal browsing, and put it through its paces.

GitHub here: https://github.com/Phineas1500/sieve-ai-image-detector

Try it across different websites, image types, and browsing scenarios. Look for things that work especially well, things that don't, false positives, false negatives, confusing UX, performance issues, or anything else that could make Sieve better.

Then:

  1. Post your experience publicly on X.
  2. Share what you tested and what you learned. Make sure to tag @sriramkiron, @0xSero, and @kennyistyping when you post.
  3. Include specific, actionable feedback wherever possible.
  4. After you post, submit a claim on this page with a screenshot of your post + its URL in the claim description.

Your feedback doesn't need to be positive. We're looking for honest feedback that helps make Sieve better.

What makes a great submission?

The most valuable feedback will be specific and actionable.

For example:

  • Finding a type of AI-generated image Sieve consistently misses
  • Finding a type of real image it incorrectly flags
  • Identifying a performance or loading issue
  • Discovering a confusing part of the user experience
  • Testing Sieve on an interesting real-world browsing scenario
  • Suggesting a concrete improvement that makes the extension more useful

The more you can demonstrate what you found and why it matters, the better.

The prize

This is a winner-take-all bounty.

The winner will be the submission that bounty contributors find most useful and that leads to meaningful improvements to Sieve.

This isn't a popularity contest or a writing competition. The goal is to find the feedback that actually makes the product better.

Why we're doing this

The first bounty helped create Sieve.

This one is about putting it in the hands of real people and creating a feedback loop between users and the person building it.

If Sieve is going to become a reliable, convenient, freely available public good, it needs to be tested against the messy reality of how people actually browse the web.

So go break it. 馃攳

Try Sieve, share what you find, and help make the next version better.
