Zaal was live in the Star 97.7 studio this morning talking ZAOstock with Paul and Mike. Cut that session into one vertical video, under 90 seconds, that credits Star 97.7, sends people to ZAOstock on Saturday, and is ready to post to Instagram as it is. Best cut wins the pot.

ZAOstock is a free music festival on Saturday October 3, 2026, in Ellsworth, Maine. Franklin Street closes to traffic and eight independent acts play back to back on the parklet stage from noon to six. Free, all ages, rain or shine. It streams live at https://zaostock.com/live.

WHY THIS ROUND EXISTS

Star 97.7 is the festival's media partner and they put Zaal on air two days before the show. The six minutes that came out of it say everything the festival needs said, in his voice and theirs. One good cut of it is a post for us, a post for Star 97.7, and a post every other partner can share. Round two's winner did exactly this with the September interview from the kit, so it is a known shape.

THE BAR (these are requirements, not preferences)

1. Vertical, 1080x1920, 90 seconds or under, exported as a video file. It has to be postable to Instagram with no further editing.
2. Credit Star 97.7 on screen, by name, for long enough to read. The audio already names the station; the text has to as well, because a reel plays muted first.
3. Carry the three facts: ZAOstock, Saturday October 3, Ellsworth Maine. Noon to six and free are the next two. End on the festival: the last frame shows zaostock.com, readable, for long enough to type.
4. Captions, burned in, word for word to what is said. Most people will watch this with the sound off.
5. The audio is the session. Use original voice from the mp3 or the VOD. No library music over speech. A quiet instrumental under it is fine if it never competes with a word.
6. No editor watermark and no corner mark from any tool. It puts another brand on ours and on Star 97.7's.
7. Use the real brand assets, linked below. No redrawn moose, no invented people, no made-up band names. These are real artists playing a real show.
8. UPLOAD ONE FRAME HERE AND PUT TWO LINKS IN YOUR CLAIM. poidh puts uploads on IPFS and takes images, not video. So upload a frame from your cut as the claim image, and in the description give (a) the public post or page where the video plays and (b) a direct download of the video file, Drive, Dropbox or similar, open to anyone with the link. The file is what gets posted and what partners reuse, so without the file link there is no entry.
9. Post your cut in the /zao channel on Farcaster, or tag @bettercallzaal on X. Not required, and it never disqualifies you, but /zao is where the entries get seen next to each other, and it is how you get notes back before the close.

WHAT EARNS WEIGHT

• It works muted. Date, place and the station are readable in the first three seconds without sound.
• It sells the day, not the interview. Someone who has never heard of ZAOstock should finish it knowing where to be on Saturday and wanting to go.
• It is one idea, not six minutes squeezed into ninety seconds. A cut built on one passage, with the facts on screen, beats a highlight reel.
• Zaal and the hosts both get to speak. The hosts saying "this Saturday at noon" is worth more than Zaal saying it, because it is someone else vouching for the day.

• It would sit on Star 97.7's own Instagram without embarrassing them. That is the test for the credit and for the taste.
• The timestamps in the claim: tell us which seconds of the mp3 you used.
